Get to a mall in the US, and chances are that on one of your strolls there you will encounter the seductive scent of the Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. It’s not surprising if you get pulled in, but what if you remember that you’ve just eaten?
If that’s the case, since you’re already there you may as well enjoy a refreshing drink while you rest. And to make sure you’re getting the right drink, get your choice of drink from the following excellent choices:
Strawberries & Cream Chillatta
The Chillatta lineup at Cinnabon is just fantastic, and you can’t go wrong with any of the versions available. With the Strawberries & Cream Chillatta, however, you get a flavor so terrific that you won’t limit yourself to just ordering this during the warm days of the year. Even in the fall and winter months, the light and fresh real-fruit flavor just shines in this drink.
It’s like love at first sight with this Chillatta, with the mostly white color enhances by the huge swirls of the strawberry puree. It looks as beautiful as an impressionist painting. You have a huge pile of whipped cream on top, enhanced by a drizzle of some strawberry syrup.
The colors haven’t mixed properly and neither have the ingredients. To have a proper flavor mix with the strawberry and cream combo, you’ll need to use your straw to give this a proper mix. It takes a bit of effort on your part, but it does help to make you appreciate the flavor.
Without this effort, the only way you get a taste of the strawberry is if you aim your straw directly at it, usually at the sides and at the bottom of the cup. The vanilla part of the drink does taste great (it tastes like a vanilla Frappuccino, if you’re curious), although the sweet cream flavor is unmistakably there as well.
Oreos & Cream Chillatta
Now this is the Chillatta you get if you’re a chocoholic who’s in the mood for some over-indulgence. Ordering this is like getting yourself a Starbucks Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino, in both appearance and flavor.
The difference is that here, you can really get that Oreo flavor with each sip. That’s because they blended real Oreos with this. This results in additional texture, while the Oreo flavor is plain and pure. No need to add artificial chocolate or cream flavors to give you that Oreo taste.
This also gives the same vibes as a cookies and cream milkshake. It’s extremely rich and extremely sweet. If you can handle sweetness level, this is one heck of a drink. You’ll just smile with pleasure with every sip. You may not be able to handle this if you can’t tolerate huge amounts of sugar, though, but it’s good until you can’t stand it no more.
MochaLatta Chill
This non-blended drink is a notably non-Chillatta item, but it deserves its spot over the Double Chocolate Mocha Chillatta. After all, they’re not all that different. In fact, the MochaLatta Chill works as the base of the Double Chocolate Mocha Chillatta.
To put it simply, you order the MochaLatta Chill if you’re an acknowledged coffee lover, but you also have a taste for chocolate. While this doesn’t have a strong coffee aroma, the coffee flavor is quite pronounced.
The chocolate flavor here is actually rather subtle, although it’s made with chocolate. It even has a drizzle of chocolate across the whipped cream topping. To be sure, this iced drink is still sweet, but the coffee taste still shines through.
All in all, the flavors balance nicely. This is a drink for coffee lovers who appreciate strong coffee, but also appreciate a fun vibe that makes this option seem like dessert.
Double Chocolate Mocha Chillatta
Okay, this is the last Chillatta left. It’s not that it’s bad—it’s actually a great iced drink that combines chocolate and coffee. That’s a classic combo for good reason.
In this case, this is a drink for chocolate lovers, who also have a taste for coffee. The flavor balance comes on the side of the chocolate, which should please choco fans. But the coffee flavor is in no way weak, and it has an especially strong aftertaste.
But this is basically a chocolate drink with added coffee. It does help that it’s made with premium Ghirardelli chocolate. It’s made with Cinnabon’s MochaLatta Chill as well, and it’s one drink that’s just tasty.
Final Words
If you’re there at Cinnabon and you decide to have a bite, but you don’t want the huge Classic Roll, then you can always just go with the $4 Minibon. It’s basically a smaller version of the Classic Roll, but at a more reasonable size for a light snack. It’s not only more affordable, but you also only get 350 calories instead of 880 calories.
